Another Anniversary – 21 Years on the Web

Sometime in late August 1998, Imago Studios made its first appearance on the web. We had been producing material for a few years before that, but not with our own site. And before we even started as Imago Studios, we were producing personal material under the name “the wanDeRers”. So we have been around a long, long time! 🙂

On this anniversary, we once again want to thank all our loyal customers for their support. Without you, we would not exist. The level of support we have received never ceases to amaze us. As we have become more active on social media platforms such as Twitter over the last few years, the classiness & quality of our true supporters has never been more apparent to us. We thank you!

We also want to say that we have no intentions of retiring anytime soon. Over the years, we have seen literally hundreds of sites & producers come and go. Most don’t last more than a few years. More recently, even some of the long time producers have mentioned quitting. But not us. We are still having way too much fun to think about stopping, and that is due in large part the the fantastic group of models we are currently working with. Not only are they terrific models, they are also great people and many have become good friends. No other producer has ever been lucky enough to find & work with so many super cool & classy amateur models. They are simply the best.

What Do I Get with an Imago Studios Membership?

We have have been getting an increasing number of questions about our membership site. We realize that for the new generation of online consumers, the details & benefits of joining a monthly membership site are probably not very obvious at all. Membership sites were the norm when we first started 20+ years ago, but now people are used to a la cart purchases and streaming video services (Netflix model). Joining a membership site may be old school, but doing so gives you the most content for your money and has several advantages. So here is a detailed explanation of how the Imago Studios Membership Site works and what you get.

Photo & video samples, along with a very detailed description of what the site contains and how often it is updated, can be found on the samples page. Our updates page list updates for approximately the last 90 days. Additional samples, news and other information can also be found on our Twitter page and here on this blog.

When you purchase a membership, all the material within is downloadable and can be saved to your hard drive.

The Imago Studios Membership Site and Bondage Warehouse are two separate sites. Imago Studios is a membership site and Bondage Warehouse is an archive site where our older material can be purchased al la cart. All our new material goes to Imago Studios first. After a few weeks or months, most (but not all) of it goes to Bondage Warehouse.

Because Imago Studios contains so much, it is a bargain when compared to purchasing the same quantity of material from either Bondage Warehouse or our C4S site.

For example, the Members’ Club contains nearly 100 hours of video. If you purchased those videos individually at Bondage Warehouse you would pay over $4000. If you bought them from our C4S site, you would pay well over $5000. Even if you wanted less than 1% of the video in the Members’ Club, it is still cheaper to buy a one month membership than to buy the material individually. And new video material is added multiple times each week! Members also get access to hundreds of high quality photo sets with new photo sets added multiple times each week. If you bought the same number of photo sets individually from Bondage Warehouse, you would spend several hundred dollars just for those!

Members also get 10% off all orders they make at Bondage Warehouse. We also have periodic “Flash Sales” where members get discounts of up to 25% or more at Bondage Warehouse.

If you remain a member beyond your first billing, your recurring fee drops nearly 25% for subsequent months.

But of course, if you just don’t like memberships or subscriptions, you can always buy a la carte from Bondage Warehouse and get just the items you like!

If you forget your username and/or password …

If you are a member of Imago Studios and you forget your username & password, please email us – imago@imagostudios.com. You can also look back at the confirmation email you received when you signed up – it contains your username & password – assuming you signed up with a real/correctly spelled email address.

We are amazed at the number of people who forget their username or password, try continually to enter over several days, but never email us. Or we email them their information, only to have it bounce because they signed up with a bogus email address.

Please do not sign up using a fake email and please retain your confirmation email – these steps will make your life a lot easier if you forget your account info.

Thank You for a Great 20th Anniversary Year

As we enter into our 21st year on the web, we wanted to sincerely thank all those that made our 20th anniversary year a great one. The level of support we received in 2018 was amazing and it ended up being our best year since 2012.

As the years go by, we remain forever thankful to all those that have supported us over these many years. We also pledge to continue working hard to produce a superior quality product, to maintain a high standard of professionalism and to remain true to the original vision we had when we started Imago Studios 20 plus years ago.

We are a Bondage Site – Not a Porn Site

This will be obvious to anyone who has followed us even casually over the last 20 years, but we think it is worth stating clearly – Imago Studios is a bondage fetish site, not a porn or S/M site. Our work is almost entirely non-nude, does not include any fondling, vibrators, forced orgasms, masturbation, hot wax, nipple clamps, or S/M play, nor do we work with models who shoot porn or explicit adult material.

We realize this makes us a very rare entity among current bondage producers. Starting several years back, the distinction between a bondage site and a porn site got blurred – very blurred. Two decades ago, because of the real fear of being prosecuted on obscenity charges, most bondage producers avoided graphic sexual content. Bondage material simply did not include sexual activity. But times changed and fears of being arrested for for producing sexually explicit bondage material diminished (thankfully!). Then the flood of bondage with sexual activity came and it overwhelmed everything else, including good old fun & campy, non-sexual bondage sites. Now the majority of bondage material produced is heavy on full nudity, sexual activities and S/M – much of what is produced now consists of little more than someone tying a model up until she can’t take it anymore and then using a vibrator on her.

Since our beginning 20+ years ago, we have stayed true to our original vision of producing bondage material that is lighthearted, storyline-based, often campy, sometimes melodramatic, but always fun. We have never produced material that is overly sexual, degrading or violent – and we never will.

Update Your Account Information

All members of the Imago Studios Members’ Club – please make sure your account information, including your email address and credit card billing information, is up to date using our Edit Account Information page.

We have recently had a lot of emails bounce or go unanswered when we contact members about their account. In addition, if the credit card you used when you signed up has expired, it will be declined the next time it rebills and you have to sign up for a new membership at the current higher rates.

And remember, if you forget your username or password, you can always retrieve them using our Membership Management Pagebut only if your email address is up to date!

Twitter

We have had a Twitter account for several years, but over the last few months we have started “tweeting” quite frequently – sometimes several times a day. While many of our tweets are mirrored by blog entries here, many are not. Twitter lends itself quite well to making short comments, flashbacks and snippets which really aren’t suitable for full blog entries. So if you like our material and want to keep up with all we have going on, we strongly suggest you also follow our twitter feed at https://twitter.com/ImagoStudiosVid.

Is Our Current Group of Models Our Best Ever?

Over the last 20+ years, we have been very fortunate to find and work with some amazing women. Our earliest shoots included models like Mia Chen & Holly Everson and our ability to find such fantastic people has luckily continued throughout the years. Remember these iconic names? Renee Rose, Dina Davis, Britney Damon, Molly Bronte, Kara Carlson, Katarina Wilski, Janeen Gzesh, Jasmine Martine & Belle Sagonis, Giana Gray, Ophelia Keathing, Jesenia Stone, Kylie Adams, Yania Fernandez, Ginger Higgins, Trisha Banos, Alaina Lael, Alexis Grey, Selene Silva and on and on and on!

At any given point in time, we were always working with at least 1 or 2 girls who would go on to join the ranks of our most popular models ever. But it was rarely more than 2 or 3 such people at a time. At least until now. Over the last few years, we have been working with the largest group of truly of amazing people that we can ever remember having at one time. Just think about these names and all the great work they have done: Katherine West, Britney Damon, Mia Nelson, Cydel Jimenez, Leah Powers, Stevie Grace, Angela Smothkaya, Sofia Vega, Sandra Milano, Scarlette Goodwin, plus relative newcomers like Daisy Daniels, Bethany Fontaine, Ariel Snow, Lera Grigio, Sasha Lopez and Gloria Nelson – and we still shoot with true greats such as Molly Bronte, Kylie Adams & Aurora Parker. Good lord that is a long list of amazing models!

So is the current group of models we work with our best ever? Taken collectively, we think the answer is a resounding yes!

If you want to see a full list of all the great models we have found & worked with, see our model directory.

Holly Everson on the Las Vegas Strip – 18 Years Ago This Month

One Sunday morning in August 18 years ago, we decided to take Holly Everson down to the Las Vegas Strip and do some photo sets. True fans of Imago Studios will remember Holly, she was one of the most popular models we’ve ever had and she was definitely a bit of an exhibitionist. Holly had already done several public scenes, including one where we tied her to a tree in Sunset Park (the largest public park in Vegas) dressed in a medieval faire maiden costume surrounded by about 50 onlookers. Our primary objective that morning was to tie her to the historic “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign right at the beginning of the Strip. When we finished with that, we decided to go right down into the heart of the Strip and tie her in front of several other landmarks. Yes, the bondage was simple, but we were right on the Strip and we even went inside the Mandalay Bay and the Venetian! We don’t remember a lot about that morning, but we do remember her turning as many heads simply walking down the Strip in her shiny black PVC boots as she did when she was bound. With the increase in security over the last 2 decades, we would probably end up in jail if we tried a shoot like this today. 🙂

We would do many more outdoor sets over the years with Holly, including some classic damsel tied to the railroad tracks sets and one where the cops showed up while she was tied up half naked under a bridge. And we are still friends with Holly to this day!

A BIG “Thank You” to our Loyal Supporters! And a Pledge to Keep Working Hard.

As we move through our 20th year on the web, we wanted to say THANK YOU again to our very loyal customers who have supported us over the years. The last several months have been exceptionally good and we pledge to continue working hard to maintain your support. We have greatly increased the numbers of videos in the Imago Studios Members’ Club, including making the latest BW series releases available to members and increasing the rate at which we add new Quick Take videos. We are also updating the Bondage Warehouse more frequently with both both photosets and videos. And we doubled the discount Imago Studios Members get when they make purchases at the Bondage Warehouse.

And of course, we continue to find and work with the most amazing, genuine, classy, cute, beautiful and exclusive amateur models on the planet! Yes, we would like to think it is our rope tying, photography & video making skills that keep you coming back, but we know it our models!! 🙂

Kylie Adams – Still Flexible After All These Years

Kylie from 2004
We were editing photos & videos from Kylie’s recent return visit for her behind the scenes gallery update in the Members’ Club and we were reminded just how flexible she was – and still is! Here are 3 examples from 2004, 2011 and 1018. Impressive!
And yes, we did paraphrase Paul Simon 🙂

Twenty Years Ago This Week – It All Started!

This week marks another milestone in the amazing history of Imago Studios. Twenty years ago this week, we did our first 3 shoots after arriving in Las Vegas. On 5/23/98 we worked with Alexa Close. The following weekend, we worked with Mia Chen on 5/30/98 and Mary Olson & Katie Ladd 5/31/98. Those 3 shoots would become our first 3 video releases (IS01, IS02 & IS03). And to this day, IS03 still remains our best selling video. We had already shot two videos and numerous still photos with other models for Harmony Concepts under the name Imago Studios, not to mention the dozens of personal photos we submitted under the name “the wanDeRers”. But these 3 videos were the first we shot knowing we were about to start our own company. It would still be a few months before the Imago Studios website would go live in August of 1998, but this week marked the start of content production for our fledgling business.

Over the years, we have acknowledged other anniversaries in previous blog posts. But we have to admit, 20 years amazes even us. And it is not just the length of time, but also what we have accomplished and the amazing success we have had. In our not so humble opinion, Imago Studios is one of the best and most unique bondage sites on the planet. The uniqueness is due, in large part, to our models, who are simply the best – period. And our prolonged success would not be possible without the incredible support we have received from so many fantastic fans. Yes, those are bold statements, but after 20 years, we think we can toot our own horn just a bit! 🙂

And if you are wondering, we have no plans of stopping anytime soon.

A Huge Shout Out to Our Fantastic Models

What is the single biggest reason for the success of Imago Studios (besides our loyal fans)? What makes Imago Studios truly unique? Why will we be celebrating our 20th anniversary on the web this year when so many other sites have come & gone in the blink of an eye? The answer to all these questions is simple. It is our models. They are beautiful, sexy and cute. They work hard and really enjoy shooting with us. Of course, there are plenty of sites working with beautiful, hard-working models (though none has as many cute models as we do! 🙂 ). But there is a difference – and it is a big one.

The vast majority of the girls who model for us are not professional bondage or porn models. They do not travel around the country shooting with any producer who will pay them. Nearly all of 300 or so girls who have worked for Imago Studios have shot with us and us alone. They are simply real-life ordinary people with normal jobs from every walk of life. And while their motivations for working with us are as varied as their backgrounds, we can say quite honestly that for most of them, it is more about the adventure and excitement of doing something different while having a ton of fun then it is about money. It is their open & natural reactions coupled with their genuine enthusiasm about doing this that makes them truly special and produces a unique product.

Thank you to our loyal fans!

As we enter 2018, we want to sincerely thank all those that have supported us over the years. This year is an important milestone for us as it marks Imago Studios’ 20th year on the web. That is something we could never have imagined possible back when we first started. We know much of our success and longevity is due to the many exceptionally loyal fans that have been with us for so long. We are amazed by the large number of people that have been members for years at a time or purchased much of what we have produced. In addition, many of you have written us very thoughtful comments, sent us equipment, props & clothing to use, commissioned custom videos and alerted us about stolen content. We are truly humbled by this amazing level of support. And as we enter our 20th year, we will continue to work hard at producing a high quality product that is unique, original, classy & fun!

Bondage Photography – Maybe Not Dying So Quick After All

In a blog entry from June 2016, we asked the question “Is Bondage Photography a Dying Medium?” We were, of course, referring to the commercial viability of bondage photography, not personal images shared on the web. And let’s be honest, the vast majority of bondage material you see on the web, be it still images or video, was produced commercially. Our question was based on the growing proliferation video only sites and the dramatic decrease in sites emphasizing quality bondage photography. More than a year later, the popularity of bondage video sites continues and we have not noticed any new sites specializing primarily in bondage photography. We too continue to greatly increase the amount of video in our Members’ Club and will continue to add even more (look for an announcement regarding more video in the Members’ Club very shortly).

Recently, however, we were crunching some numbers and were quite surprised at the results. Maybe bondage photography as a viable medium isn’t dying nearly as quick as we thought. In 2016, individual photo sets and photo archive collections accounted for 65% of the total items sold and nearly 30% of the revenue on our Bondage Warehouse site. And so far in 2017, those percentages are increasing. From January 1 through October 31, photo sets & photo archive collections have accounted for 70% of the total items sold and more than 33% of the revenue.

What does this mean? We do not know! Maybe nothing as we realize our fan base, in general, probably has slightly different tastes than many bondage consumers. We are fairly certain that bondage photography will continue to be de-emphasized in favor of videos by most producers, especially new producers. However, for us at least, bondage photography still remains viable in and of itself. Which is good, because we still love doing bondage photography! 🙂
